A sweet-yet-savory jam, made with our farm grown garlic and rosemary. This jam is fantastic for cheese and crackers, over cream cheese like with pepper jelly for dipping, on a grilled cheese, or just on bread or biscuits, as well as with meats, both dark and light. I always use low-sugar pectin for my jams and jellies, so this has about 2/3 the sugar of a regular jam. Ingredients: cane sugar, SF garlic, Apple cider vinegar, White wine, low-sugar fruit pectin and SF fresh rosemary.

A sweet-yet-savory jam, made with our farm-grown garlic, slow-roasted to caramelized goodness, with balsamic vinegar and red wine. Harvested from wild plum trees on our farm, this jam is delicious and quite tart! We puree and strain the plums to make a jam that is a thick but smooth texture, similar to apple butter, and sweeten it just enough to not pucker you up. The plums contain natural pectin, but we added a little Pomona's Natural Pectin to make sure it is a nice thick-set jam. This pectin activates with calcium rather than sugar, so we can use much less sugar than commercial jams (the acidity of the fruit is the active preservative in this case). We work hard to get all the pits out of the jam, but just a word of caution, there will probably be a piece here and there. We will continue refining our process for both efficiency and effectiveness!

These lip balms have quickly become my best-selling item in my Etsy shop and at craft fairs. Recipe - Grass-fed beef tallow (ours or Dayspring Farm's), beeswax, shea butter, lanolin, olive and castor oils. Please choose a scent from the list below - if you don't add a note with your choice, I will choose for you :-) I apologize for the run-on description, the formatting of this site doesn't allow line spacing. These lip balms are scented with either essential oils or flavor oils (fragrance oils specifically for safe lip use), and I've added a small amount of all-natural sweetener to enhance the fragrance. This sweetener is simply stevia and coconut oil, and I use just enough to give the scent a well-rounded aspect, similar to using salt in food – it just seems a little flat without it, but these are not candy-sweet, like many commercial lip balms. If you prefer a lip balm without sweetener, just add a note and I'll do that, but be aware that it may just seem a little "off" or flat in flavor/scent since our senses of taste and smell are so intertwined. These tinted lip balms are the same formula as the tallow lip balm (½ grassfed beef or sheep tallow, the rest beeswax, lanolin & shea butter, olive & castor oil) but a larger size (fill weight of .25 oz vs .15, but the tube is only slightly larger, see photo for comparison) – and I've added a bit of tinted mica for a hint of color. This is a very subtle blush, not a lip color – just a “healthy glow”, a little more sophisticated than just a “chapstick” :) These tubes do not screw up like a standard plastic tube, they just push up from the bottom – the initial push may take some effort to start it sliding, but after that it should be quite simple! The only thing I would improve is that the caps do not fit as snugly as I'd like – but overall, I love the paper tube – it's completely recyclable or compostable, including the paper label I use. I do pay a good bit more for these than the plastic tubes, but I really believe it's worth it. Handmade lip balm, made with local beeswax (or candelilla wax for a vegan version), cocoa and shea butter, and castor and olive oils. Please choose a scent from the list below, if you don't I will choose for you :-) Beeswax gives this balm staying power, the butters are super-moisturizing, and castor oil is famed for being great for our skin, encouraging collagen and elastin production and helping penetrate and heal dry or damaged skin. It also adds a natural gloss and shine to this lip balm. If you have an allergy or sensitivity to any of these ingredients, just contact me for a custom-made lip balm, I can substitute any of the ingredients for you, and as mentioned, I can also make a vegan version with candelilla wax instead of the beeswax. I've been using my hand & body balm for years now and love it, and have always used it on my lips, but I had never poured lip tubes because I just hate the plastic! There's more plastic than product in those little tubes, and I just couldn't justify that – but then I found paper tubes!! They are the same size as the standard plastic tubes (both the .2 oz fill and the overall tube size), and simply push up from the bottom instead of the screw mechanism. The caps don't snap on quite as tightly as the plastic ones, but they usually fit on fairly snugly, I trade them around if one is loose until I find a good fit (and a customer has helpfully pointed out that a cap from a commercial lip tube will also work well). These tubes are entirely paperboard, with a waxed interior to prevent leaking, and I use paper labels, so they are entirely recyclable or compostable. I do pay a good bit more for these than the plastic tubes, but I really believe it's worth it. These are available in a large selection of fragrances as well as unscented and even custom blending, just send me a note with your request. These lip balms are scented with either essential oils or flavor oils (fragrance oils specifically for safe lip use), and I've added a very small amount of all-natural sweetener to enhance the fragrance. This sweetener is simply stevia and coconut oil, and I use just enough to give the scent a well-rounded aspect, similar to using salt in food – it just seems a little flat without it, but these are not candy-sweet, like many commercial lip balms. I can customize which I use, just let me know. • Coffee Bean - Actual coffee EO, this is a light scent of true coffee - no vanilla, mocha, latte, etc. • Ginger Lime • Grapefruit • Lemon • Lime • Orange • Peppermint • Star Anise – This pure essential oil is classic black licorice, pure and simple. Essential Oil/Unsweetened Flavor Oil blend, with a Touch of Stevia Sweetener • Apple Sage - A blend of red & green apple flavors, with pure Dalmation Sage EO, this is my new favorite • Chocolate Mint – Chocolate flavor oil, with pure Peppermint essential oil, and a hint of stevia sweetener. This is a very light scent, no tingle/burning at all from the Peppermint, but the decadent fragrance comes through really nicely. If you'd prefer a stronger fragrance, message me for a custom blending. • Coconut Lime – Coconut flavor oil with pure essential oil of Lime for a tropical summery fragrance. • Mint Julep – Bourbon flavor oil, with pure Peppermint essential oil, a touch of unsweetened Honey flavor, and just enough stevia sweetener to round out the fragrance. This is my new favorite scent - my own blend of zingy lime and earthy ginger, tied together with a hint of lavender. I’ve tried blending ginger and lime before, but it never balanced until I added just a touch of lavender - perfect! All-natural semi-solid lotion, made with local grass-fed & grass-finished, hand-rendered beef tallow, Shea butter, cocoa butter, lanolin, local beeswax, and olive & almond oils. This solid body balm bar is molded in an easy-to-use bar. It comes packaged in a metal tin for storage and travel, simply turn it out on your hands, and either apply directly with the bar, or rub the bar like soap, and then apply to skin with hands. This balm uses home-rendered beef tallow from Cove Creek and Pig Mountain Farms, as well as luscious, healing lanolin and both raw, hand-milled and certified Fair Trade cocoa and Shea butter, and the Shea butter is also certified organic - both these ingredients are sourced from a small women's cooperative in Ghana. Don't store the balm - in or out of the tin - in direct sunlight, it does melt easily! And this is potent stuff, a tiny bit goes a long way! I recommend starting out with an amount you feel is too little and adjusting upwards if necessary, to avoid over-applying. This balm is amazing for dry winter skin, feet, elbows and knees, hands, lips, or really anywhere you want your skin nourished with natural oils, and the beeswax lends staying power for truly long-lasting moisturizing.  This Tallow Balm feels identical to a "regular" Hand & Body Balm, but I love that we’re able to produce half of it right on our own farm! While the other ingredients are really wonderful and nourishing, it is frustrating that I have to purchase them from pretty much the other side of the world and I feel so much better knowing that not only is grass-fed grass-finished tallow at least as good for my skin, but the steer that produced this tallow was born and spent his whole life on a small farm just a few miles down the road. Grass-fed tallow is wonderful for skin, with its molecules more closely matching our "animal" skin oils than vegetable oils do.  It also contains those fat soluble vitamins we need such as A, D, E, and K, as well as others nutrients thought to be age- and cancer-fighting. Each scent is listed as either a fragrance oil or an essential oil.  Fragrance oils are synthetic oils, often used for scents that just don't occur as an essential oil.  For example, we simply can't distill the scent of oatmeal, milk, or honey - there is no natural oil for those.  Synthetic fragrance oils are generally thought to be the #1 allergen in cosmetics, although I've never had a complaint, and I have a number of customers who use only my soaps and lotions because of extremely sensitive skin, and they use varieties with fragrance oils.

This is the simplest solid lotion I make, and in my opinion, the best. It is simply 90% grassfed tallow and 10% liquid shea oil. This is amazing stuff - much less greasy/oily-feeling than my regular Body Balm (which I still love, especially for lips!), it soaks right in and really moisturizes. Tallow is great for skin, and is local, sustainable, and much more eco-friendly and ethical than many oils that contribute to deforestation, labor exploitation, etc. We render this ourselves, either from our own Scottish Highland steers or our Tunis sheep, or Dayspring Farm's sheep or cattle, or Cove Creek's cattle, or Summerfields' sheep - we try to respect the sacrifice our heritage animals have made to feed and aid us, and use all that we can from the animals. (We also tan the hides and clean the skulls and horns as striking wall decorations). This is the simplest solid lotion I make, and in my opinion, the best. It is simply 90% grassfed tallow and 10% liquid shea oil. This is amazing stuff - much less greasy/oily-feeling than my regular Body Balm (which I still love, especially for lips!), it soaks right in and really moisturizes. Tallow is great for skin, and is local, sustainable, and much more eco-friendly and ethical than many oils that contribute to deforestation, labor exploitation, etc. We render this ourselves, either from our own Scottish Highland steers or our Tunis sheep, or Dayspring Farm's sheep or cattle, or Cove Creek's cattle, or Summerfields' sheep - we try to respect the sacrifice our heritage animals have made to feed and aid us, and use all that we can from the animals. (We also tan the hides and clean the skulls and horns as striking wall decorations). I try to maintain a stock of these in multiple fragrances, but I am also happy to make this to order, so if you have a preference specify beef or sheep tallow, and choose the scent you would like from the list below and include a “note to the grower” at checkout with your selection. If you’re not sure or aren’t picky, just tell me if it’s for a male or female recipient, I’ll choose something appropriate.
