This is roving made from lambswool from our Gulf Coast Native/Polypay or Gulf Coast Native/Romney cross lambs. As lamb's wool, it is softer and finer than our ewe's wool but I cannot give an exact micron count - it is probably somewhere in the middle. I would wear yarn from this roving in a scarf or hat but maybe not too close to the skin. This wool takes a dye well. The folks at Frankenmoth Woolen Mill in Michigan did a fantastic job of mixing the fleeces, cleaning them, and turning them into roving. There is still a small amount of hay in the roving (this was my first batch that I sent to the mill and I have since learned to be more selective). Adorable 100% alpaca stuffed animals. The outside is knitted and felted, then snugly stuffed with loose alpaca wool as well. Specify alpaca, lamb, or chicken. If I have one on hand I can deliver immediately, if not I can have one made in 1-3 weeks. I have a variety of colors available, from white and gray to fawn, brown and black.
