Phlox stolonifera thrives best in moist, well-drained soils in full to partial shade, spreading rapidly by stolons. This phlox is very drought tolerant once established, and needs good air circulation to reduce growth of powdery mildew. This lovely woodland bloomer benefits from occasional fertilization. A stunning groundcover and border plant, it may be propagated by root cuttings or division any time. This plant can be used in sweeps and masses to cover large areas, or in smaller areas and containers.
