Short Mountain Cultures, located inside The Arts Center of Cannon County, is a small batch fermentation manufacturer and grocery purveyor focused on local sourcing when possible. Founded in 2016, SMC started by crafting tempeh and has added fermented sauerkraut, kimchi, hot sauce, kvass, seasonal veggies, water kefir and most recently kombucha. Open six day a week, SMC also provides hospitality service during scheduled year long events and shows at The Arts Center of Cannon County and hosts educational workshops featuring local author Sandor Katz.
