Can't Have Left-Behind Orders Today ! !

The Sewanee Community Center has asked us to not leave ANY food on the counters in the kitchen.

The fridge would not be large enough to accommodate more than a couple of orders, especially if they were large.

So, PLEASE pick up your orders today — and every Tuesday — by 6:15. We leave at 6:15, and will have no choice but to take the orders with us for the foreseeable future. We don’t want to do that because we don’t have that kind of fridge space, either.

If this is a problem for you for today’s orders, please call Kir at 931.592.3399 (no voice mail) or 931.636.0467 BEFORE 2:00 p.m. today to arrange a delivery.

Kir and Linda

CALLING ALL CUSTOMERS!

In case you missed Saturday’s blog, here it is again!

Please remember to bring bags when you come to market to pick up your orders. If you have extras, please bring them for others. Thanks so much.

Please don’t write out your checks ahead of your market pickup. Growers can sometimes remove items at the last minute, and this will affect your invoice. So, kindly wait until your total is established at market. Thanks so much.

We continue to hear from customers who are sure they have placed their orders only to find nothing waiting for them at market. REMEMBER—If you do not receive an order confirmation within 5 minutes, your order has NOT been placed in the system. E-MAIL OR CALL US to get the problem solved so you will not be disappointed on market day.

AND the market is still looking for delivery drivers for Monteagle and Sewanee. Since you’re at the market anyway, why not pick up an order for a friend or neighbor and get paid, too! You just need to be dependable and detail oriented. If interested, please call Linda at 931-592-8384.

JUMPOFF MOUNTAIN JAVA ANNOUNCES
The 2014 season of Guatemala Huehuetenango (way-way-ten-ango) is finally here and well worth the wait! The medium/dark roast level enhances the sweetness (especially chocolate notes) without losing the brightness in the cup. A very well-balanced coffee with good body, creamy mouth feel, and a lingering but nice finish.—————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Blueberry and Blackberry Cobblers Just Added to the Market

Brown’s Hollar just added cobblers to the market. The blackberries are local, wild berries; the blueberries are local, organically grown berries Yum!

Glitch in System Today

Today there was apparently a glitch in our software… Some people got the blog e-mail opening the market. Others did not.

And it appeared that the Market was not open and ordering oculd not take place.

We think the problem is fixed now, but let us know if you ever experience any such probloems in the future — especially this weekend.

While we’re talking about ordering… When you finish ordering, don’t forget to “Place” the order… If you think you have placed an order but don’t get a Confirmation e-mail within 5 minutes, go back in and “Place” the order.

Happy Ordering!
Kir and Linda

FROM YOUR MARKET CO-MANAGERS
In order to give our growers and artisans time to arrive and have their products checked in, please remember that market pickup hours begin at 4:30 p.m. If you need to pick up your order earlier than 4:30, please e-mail us at cumberlandfm@gmail.com. Thanks, all!

FROM YOUR MARKET CO-MANAGERS (just in case you missed it last week)
To all our wonderful growers and customers: The Cumberland Farmers’ Market co-managers are growers and artisans, too (read: we’re also busy). We make every effort to respond to your calls and e-mail questions in a timely manner. Consequently, while the market is open (Sat. 5 p.m. to Mon. 10 a.m.), we will check once a day for your questions and get back to you. During the remainder of the week, we will check for your questions every other day. To get the fastest response, please send your questions to: cumberlandfm@gmail.com rather than any other address.

Another item: during the past month, we have had inquiries about fruit bars, energy bars, and the like. We have checked with out bakers and learned that the prices of ingredients (especially dried fruit and nuts) have risen exponentially. This would result in the price of such market items increasing at least 50 percent. If you feel so inclined and would like to pursue this, please e-mail us.
