<p>We have 3 different varieties of pumpkins in the field this year.</p> Jack-O-Lanterns: A 10 pound fruit that is thick walled, and smooth skinned, round to slightly oblong. The thick flesh is fine for cooking, but really shines as a carving pumpkin Connecticut Field Pumpkins: A standard heirloom carving pumpkin. It is a large 18 pound, deep orange with a thick flesh and flattened bottoms. This pumpkin is a favorite for pies. Howden Pumpkins: A uniform 15 to 25 pound pumpkin. It is a deep round, symmetrical fruit with a thick, hard, rich orange shell and extra thick flesh. This pumpkin is great for craving and stores well.
