Coral Bells Plant, Dark Red/Purple Leaves with Pink SplashesGrower: Dogwood Valley Greenhouse
Price: $6.50 ( trade gallon pot )Available (Estimated): 7
Also known as Alum Root, Heuchera is a beautiful genus of perennial foliage plants that will add a punch of color to any spot in your garden. This one is larger and not as dark as the other variety we offer. Coral Bells begin blooming in midspring and continue through the summer months. We suggest dead-heading to prolong the bloom season. Will grow in any well-drained alkaline soil. Even though they tolerate a couple hours of shade, best results are achieved when grown in full sun. They are drought tolerant, very cold hardy (Zone 4), and many of them will even stay evergreen through the winter.

Deodorant - Clay, Bulgarian LavenderGrower: Solace Farm
Price: $9.00 ( 3 oz tube )Available (Exact): 2
I've finally found a “green” packaging for deodorants – cardboard tubes! I'm so excited to be able to offer no-plastic deodorants! These actually hold slightly more than the standard tubes (3 oz vs. 2.5), and look smaller to boot – they have a more compact shape. I love that these are completely recyclable or compostable, including the paper label I apply, and the fact that they are so much more attractive is an added bonus :) These tubes simply push up from the bottom – it may take a bit of effort to get the contents sliding, but it is such an ingeniously simple design! Because these are paper, and my deodorant is oil/butter/wax-based, there may occasionally be a bit of staining/bleeding on the paper at the mouth. Obviously this won't affect the function, just the absolute visual perfection :), and of course I will not sell anything with more than minimal blemishes.
My recipe is based on much research, and then trial-and-error tweaking, resulting in a formula that contains: Shea butter, beeswax, almond, castor & coconut oils, cocoa butter, arrowroot powder, kaolin & bentonite clays, and essential oils for both fragrance and, more importantly, anti-bacterial/anti-microbial power. This formula is the perfect balance of firmness (beeswax), meltable/glide-on-ness (oils), moisturizing (butters) and function (arrowroot & clay powders) – and there are no harmful ingredients - technically, you could ingest it and it wouldn't do any harm! I do not use any baking soda - my research found that many people are allergic to/irritated by the soda in natural deodorants, resulting in rashes. It appears that often users develop a sensitivity to the baking soda with continued use, so I have avoided it in all my deodorants, and use arrowroot starch instead.
Scented with Bulgarian lavender, a slightly sweeter, more floral/less pungently herbal variety of lavender.

The fragrance is my own blend of cedarwood and bergamot essential oils, chosen for both their great woodsy and dark-citrus aromas, as well as their antibacterial powers. Bergamot can be a photo-sensitizer, but for skin application I've made sure to use the premium Bergaptene-free version, so it will not bother your skin.

Deodorant - Clay, Spring Rain EO BlendGrower: Solace Farm
Price: $9.00 ( 3 oz tube )Available (Exact): 4
One of my new favorite blends, this is a great men's scent, it makes me think "aftershave - but better". A blend of smoky Amyris essential oil with lavender and cedarwood oils.

The Yling-Ylang essential oil is a heady floral aroma, very feminine, and the lavender essential oil is Hungarian lavender, a more floral variety that pairs beautifully with the yling-ylang. These sweet florals are tied together with the vanilla-like base note of Peru balsam.
