Log House Herbage
This is a no-chemicals part of the universe.
I, Jim Ann Howard, live in “The Log House” – the original farmhouse of what, thanks to Gayle Link, is now the 1,200+/- acre Jumpoff Community Land Trust, an intentional community dedicated to co-operative, sustainable living, alternative housing and keeping over 1,000 acres of the Trust “Forever Wild.” I am slowly transforming the small pasture behind my house into a butterfly, moth and bird meadow. I am currently subsidizing this effort by selling Vinca minor plants dug from existing gardens in my yard at a very low price.Vinca is a useful ground cover. When contained, it chokes out poison ivy and prevents erosion. If improperly maintained, it can become invasive, so I include lengthy gardening tips with each batch of plants that I sell.
