Black Mountain Farm

We do NOT use any pesticides, NOR herbicides, nor synthetic fertilizers.
We do use aged composted manure from our rabbits and from a local horse stable to increase the fertility of our soil, we will also be adding worm castings this year.
Most of our vegetables are Heirloom varrieties, and several are choosen from the SlowFoods USA Ark of Taste list of the rarest and best tasting Heirlooms. We are interested in preserving these old fashioned flavor filled vegetables and growing them in the healthy way they have been for generations! We hope you will enjoy the special goodness of our produce :)
Black Mountain Farm is 30 acres on the edge of the Cumberland Platue. We are striving to be a sustainable farm ecosystem. We have about 10 acres of woodlands, 10 acres in brushy goat pasture on the hillside, the start of a small fruit and nut and berry orchard, and two large gardens, one is for our CSA (Sassafras Fairy CSA), the other is our Farm & Market Garden where we grow part of our livestock feed and additional vegetables for ourselves and to sell at local farmer’s markets, we also grow cut flowers as part of the rotation in this area.
